Clear skin - it takes more than just good genes

January 30th, 2009 No comments

By: Luat Tran Van
Growing up, I always thought my grandmother had soft and beautiful skin. Well, I was right. Even well into her seventies, Grandma Susie still has amazingly soft and nearly wrinkle-free skin. The other day, I asked about her skin care regimen and how she kept looking so young. Her answer? She washes her face three times a day with warm water and a clean wash cloth. No soap, no chemicals at all!

But as we all know, most people are not as lucky as Grandma Susie when it comes to skin care. For a lot of us, it takes work and help to simply get clear skin. I will not even bring up what it takes to get soft and smooth skin or to keep back the signs of age.

For me, I am well into my thirties now with pretty decent skin (thanks to Grandma Susie and her genes). Although, every once in a while, acne rears its ugly “black-head” usually when I am stressed or eating poorly. But most of my acne problems start when I work out heavily. It seems the more I sweat, the more I break out.

I tend to break out more where my hairline meets my forehead, around my nose and under my chin. My break outs do not last long, but they are noticeable especially to me. It is really tough to be taken seriously as an adult when a teenage problem creeps up on my forehead. That is why I really try to take care of my face when I am working out, stressing or indulging in that greasy Double-Double from IN-N-OUT! And while soap and astringents were my cure of choice in my twenties, At this age (37) I look for options that are not so harsh on my skin, but will show positive results.

After a recent break out, a friend recommended that I give Obagi Skin Care a try. So, I logged onto Obagi Skin Care to learn more. Once their, I found a product that looked for me … Obagi CLENZIderm M.D.. There are two types of Obagi CLENZIderm. There’s Normal-to-Dry Skin and Normal-to-Oily Skin. Given my sometimes oily skin type, I chose the latter.

From the website, I learned that using CLENZIderm M.D. every day, people like myself can reduce the visible signs of acne in as little as two weeks and prevent new breakouts, allowing me to maintain clear and healthy skin.

Here is how it works over the two week period for Normal-to-Oily Skin

Step 1: Cleanse with Daily Care Foaming Cleanser

You will start by wetting your face with warm water, and squeezing out a dime-sized amount of Daily Care Foaming Cleanser into the palm of your hand. For 20 to 30 seconds, you will lather and gently your entire face before rinsing and pat drying your face. Before starting step 2, you will need to wait about 15 minutes before

Step 2: Pore Therapy

Following Step 1, grab a cotton ball or pad, moisten with the Pore Therapy and apply over your face. Be careful to avoid your eyes, nose and mouth. Once your done, let it dry … don’t rinse off. Make sure your entire face is dry before moving to step 3.

Step 3: Serum Gel

During Step 3, apply one pump of Serum Gel onto the cotton pad provided in your kit. Begin applying the gel evenly to entire face. Of course, keep it away from your eyes or in nose and mouth. Once you’re done, make sure to wash your hands … but don’t take any of the medication off your face. People with sensitive skin will feel some slight tingling or burning. That’s ok, it will minimize once you use it a few more times.

Although I don not have dry skin, I understand it’s a similar process for Steps 1 but things do change slightly in Step 2 and 3.

If you follow this regimen, daily … you’ll notice a big difference in the next two weeks. Although I have heard similar claims from other products, I found that Obagi made true on its promise. Now, thanks to Obagi Skin Care and genetics from Grandma Susie, I am pretty happy with my skin. Give it a try and you will see the transformation.

Penis Enlargement Methods - Do They Really Work?

January 30th, 2009 No comments

By: .JohnSmith.
One of the most often searched key phrase on various search engines is about the effectiveness of the penis enlargement devices and pumps. Many men face a dilemma that whether or not these penis enlargement methods actually work? If yes, are they truly effective and worth spending a good amount of money?

Having expertise in this field for many years and having worked with various plastic surgeons specializing in the science of penis enlargement, we can confidently say that penis pumps are a far inferior solution as compared to the penis extender devices.

The penis pumps usually work on the principle of temporary flow of blood to the penis, thus leading to only a temporary increase in penis size. Resultantly, the penis size starts decreasing gradually with a decrease in the use of penis pumps. As the demand for natural, safe and permanent means of penis enlargement gained momentum, many medical professionals racked their brains and figured out that a traction device may potentially prove to be the best answer to the demands of men.

Urologists had been using the penis extender devices or traction devices for post surgery treatment of penises for many years. Quite often, men were recommended to use these traction devices to regenerate the penile tissue cells and to catalyze the healing process post surgery.

These traction devices lead to increase in the penis size by the application of minute and consistent pressure on the penis body, resulting in tissue regeneration over a period of time. Although penis extenders are not as effective as the surgical methods, but they sure are the most natural and safe means of penis enlargement ever produced. Their regular use can also result in better control over ejaculation and an improvement in libido. Moreover, a person is saved from a knife working on his penis.

Penis enlargement exercises if done in conjunction with the penis extenders, can lead to marvelous results. However, please note that the results vary from individual to individual. While you may be able to gain 3 inches in 6 months time, your neighbor may lag behind with only an inch increase in that much time. The results also depend on your method of employing the penis enlargement device or exercise.

Several companies have come up to offer various types of penis extender devices and exercise programs. However, many have turned out to be scams and can also potentially harm the health of your penis. It is for this reason, we have rated and reviewed only the best penis enlargement methods on our website.

New Spring and Summer Beauty Trend Secret

Spring and Summer Beauty Trend Easy - Low Maintenance Makeup and an Instant Natural Look for All.
Cosmetic company says keep your cosmetic bag light this season
(Las Vegas, NV) <03/20/2008> As the warmer weather approaches, the glow of the spring and summer season can be seen in flowers in bloom, our wardrobe and even our makeup hues. The dark, heavy colors of winter can be removed from makeup bags, leaving room for a more natural palette.
Michele Kish, inventor of Go-Natural The All-In-One Cosmetic, offers tips on maintaining the low maintenance makeup trend this season.
Each year during the warmer-weather season, one makeup trend remains as a rule-of-thumb: low maintenance makeup. No one wants to deal with the mess of applying lots of makeup and trying to master the skills of a professional makeup artist, said Kish. The key is to choose a product is so simple and basic, it doesnt look like makeup at all.
Kish offers the following advice when attempting the natural look this season:

* Find a product that stays on all day long without the need for touchups
* Makeup should soften and blend away any imperfections and/or scars
* Diminish the appearance of under-eye circles, fine lines
* Neutralizes redness and blotchy areas
* Go for a light, fresh, no-makeup feel, never dry or flakey

In an effort to offer women a natural look without filling up their cosmetic bags and overwhelming them with instructions on how to apply them, Kish invented Go-Natural The All-In-One Cosmetic. The product is a unique blend of true colors, translucence and selected undertones that are inspired by nature and based on the theory of the color wheel. According to Kish, it was designed to blend with individual skin tones to produce true, natural results while blending away imperfections. Go-Natural picks up on the bone structure to emphasize the cheekbone and open up the eye.
This compact goes beyond just a makeup offering that complements the natural-look trend; its an all-in-one, which takes the fuss and stress out of applying makeup each day, Kish said. You can be a trendsetter with one single compact!

Retail and wholesale from Las Vegas and London Canada since 1999.

How to Wear All Natural Black Hair

January 26th, 2009 No comments

By: Mira Williams
Well its not our fault really natural black hair is different from white hair. It looks different, feels different and hence needs to be treated differently. However, most of us are ill-informed about how to deal with this difference so we will try to change it and make it conform to white hair which is more manageable and apparently looks better. We just dont give our natural hair a chance.

However, it is possible to wear your natural hair and wear it great! All it needs is a shift in perspective and understanding. Natural black hair is by no means unappealing. It just requires a different natural hair care routine. Once you know how to treat your hair right you will have no trouble wearing it the way it is. Most of all imagine the kind of money you would save not having to go to the salon every week or buying expensive products that arent even right for your hair. Add to this the freedom of wearing YOUR hair the way it is.

All this seems very nice you might say but how do you start? Where are you going to learn how to take care of your natural hair? Well, seek and thou shall find. There are a host of natural hair websites that are made for natural black hair and by women who have natural black curly hair. Everything you need to understand, nurture and grow great natural black hair is on these websites. They will offer you tips, tricks, product reviews, hairstyles and all the support you would require to go all natural.

Now you might think - there are scores of websites though all offering the same old advice, which weve heard all along. But there is a basic difference between advice for white hair and natural black hair. What works for their hair will not work for yours. Your hair needs different natural hair care in terms of its characteristic and what products or treatments will suit it. And no one can know this difference apart from other women like you.

What makes these websites trustworthy is that theyve been started by women whove decided to opt for natural black hair over straightened, relaxed and faked white hair. So these websites are an ideal one stop shop for first-hand advice on what really works for natural hair and what doesnt. Youll also be surprised at the kind of myths that will get busted as you find your way to great looking natural hair.

The final question is it worth it? Well wouldnt you want to know what it feels like to just jump in the shower, wash your hair and be done with it? Wearing and being able to accept your hair for what it is can give you a sense of freedom that is very precious. If that freedom isnt worth anything, then I dont know what is.

Maintaining a youthful look

Protecting Your Skin

The condition as well as the appearance of the skin is very important to most women. Synthetic and natural cosmetics are commonly used in the treatment of their skin. Skin care products are used by women around the world to keep their skin healthy.

Women who are attempting to find the right skin care treatment often use a trial and error method. Many other women will simply go by recommendations given to them from friends. It is known that women have different skin types. Therefore, it is very important to first find out what skin type you have. Gaining this knowledge will allow you to treat your skin with the proper skin care products. To do this, many women choose to go to a cosmetologist for expert advice and suggestions on skin care. Severe skin problems may require advice from a dermatologist.

Proper Care for Different Skin Types

Many women will find that they have either oily or dry skin. A person with oily skin is more likely to have many clogged pours, blackheads, blemishes, and dead skin buildup. Oily skin resulting from an overactive gland can result in DHT sensitivity. In this situation, the skin loses its moisture. In return, the lack of moisture will result in the production of an excessive amount of oil. With proper skin care, those suffering from oily skin can easily be treated.

To properly treat oily skin it is imperative to remove excess sebum on the surface of the skin. In doing this, a person should refrain from removing too many skin lipids. Removing an excessive amount of skin lipids could actually cause more harm to your skin. A person attempting to treat oily skin should use skin care products and cleansers that do not contain oils, waxes, or lipid agents. Often, cleansers will contain a light moisturizer to prevent the skin from drying out. The right skin care product should be applied regularly to oily skin for greater results.

Dry skin can be caused by a number of things. It is well-known that the sun can dry out your skin. Also, may people are simply born with dry skin. Over exposure to the sun can not only dry out your skin, but it can also cause premature aging and skin cancer. When going out in the sun it is important to apply skin care products that fight the suns harmful UV Rays. A solid foundation consisting of healthy minerals, loose powders, and moisturizers applied to your skin are useful in fighting against the suns rays.

Aging women typically prefer to have healthy, young looking skin. The sooner you apply anti-aging skin care products the better. Anti-aging skin care products will prevent wrinkling and other signs of aging. Interestingly, a healthy diet can go a long way when it comes to the condition and appearance of your skin. Not only will anti-aging skin care products make your skin look and feel better, but your confidence and self-esteem are boosted as well.

Garlic: Garlic is a very healthy herb. It has shown to significantly reduce the amount of fatty deposits in the arteries by up to 50%. It also helps to stop clots from forming. Garlic can easily be added to dishes to make them more tasty. If you have a problem with garlic breath, you may want to use a supplement.

Mint: There are many, many types of mint. The most popular ones are spearmint and peppermint. For individuals who are interested in growing their own herbs, mint is an easy one to grow. Of all herbs, mint is probably the one with the most documented evidence. Mints are fantastic for soothing stomach pain. They are also great for obtaining fresh breath.

Basil: Basil works well in helping to improve memory, and calm the nervous system. It also is an effective herb to clear the lungs, remedy ear aches and treat fungi infections.

Lavender: The herb lavender is known to help alleviate headaches and to help individuals who suffer from insomnia fall asleep. Using this herb in oil is a perfect way to administer it.

Marjoram: Marjoram is great for soothing and calming.

Parsley: Parsley is well known for it diuretic properties. It is especially good for women going through menopause who are retaining water. There is also some evidence that parsley helps to lower high blood pressure in very mild cases.

Rosemary: Rosemary is an excellent herb to take when one is suffering from poor circulation, headaches or memory lapses. It is also good for fighting bad breath.

Yarrow: Yarrow not only has bodily healing properties, it also is great in attracting beauty. Butterflies are attracted to this herb, making it a good way to entice them to your garden. Yarrow is also excellent for treating skin abrasions and cuts. It also helps to promote healing. Some individuals use yarrow to treat physical problems ranging from hemorrhoids to headaches.

Wormwood: When mixed with caraway or peppermint, wormwood can be used to sooth stomach pain and irritable bowel syndrome. It is best taken as a tea. It is important to note that wormwood has been declared unsafe by the FDA, due to thuione, which is found in wormwood and is dangerous for the liver.

Garlic, mint, basil, lavender, marjoram, parsley, rosemary, yarrow and wormwood are all herbs with outstanding healing properties. They are also all very easy to grow, making it very simple for an interested person to grow their own and benefit from them all year long. There is no need to purchase them expensively in the store, when you can successfully grow them yourself. Because many people enjoy having their food seasoned with herbs, it is really never difficult to incorporate them into ones diet, which makes them incredibly convenient to consume. Be sure to add fresh herbs whenever you can and benefit from both their delicious flavor and their healing properties.

Top Aromatherapy Recipes For Insomnia

January 18th, 2009 No comments

By: George Kakaris
It is well know that Aromatherapy can be beneficial for those who suffer from several mental disorders. The essential oils effectiveness comes through their calming and relaxing properties that can soothe stressed mind, unwind tired body and generally lull and overcome insomnia. Before suggesting some tips and aromatherapy recipes, read what exactly insomnia is and how it incommodes health and life.

The term insomnia describes the inability to have satisfactory quantity of sleep. It is also called sleeplessness and it is a very common condition that concerns many people. It is believed that over of 20% of world population suffer from insomnia. If you cannot easily fall asleep or you cannot remain asleep or you wake up very early in morning, then you probably are one of them. Health bibliography classes sleeplessness in transient (which lasts no more a week), short-term (which last no more than a month) and long-term or chronic (which lasts more than a month) which is the most dangerous for health and wellness.

The causes of sleeplessness are generally associated with upsetting situations and stress. Moreover, other causes of insomnia are: caffeine, nicotine and alcohol consumption, snoring, asthma and other breathing disorders, sleep schedule changes, bad environmental conditions (too much noise or light), behavioural psychiatric factors such as anxiety and depression. At last, there are several cases that someone cannot fall asleep because of insomnia phobia. That is to describe the fear of not being able to fall asleep!

Sleep loss affects quality of life and wellbeing. Those who have been experiencing sleeplessness symptoms for more than a month are likely to become more nervous, irritable and tired. As a result, they cannot concentrate easily and they have poor memory. What is more, they increase the risk of car or work accidents and finally they may develop psychiatric and physical diseases, like chronic depression and immune disorders.

You can help yourself to overcome insomnia by following some everyday tips. Fist of all, try to stay detached from stressful and overexciting situations. Adopt a regular bedtime routine and make your bedroom as cosy and quiet as you can. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine consumption, especially close to bedtime. It is believed that diet rich in calcium, magnesium, and B6 vitamin might be helpful. A cup of chamomile tea before going to sleep it is recommended because it has natural sedative effect.

As mentioned before, aromatherapy tips can also be beneficial to treat sleeplessness and provide a restful relaxing deep sleep. The most effective essential oils that are used for insomnia cure are: Lavender, Marjoram, Chamomile, Rose and Sandalwood.

Aromatherapy burners or diffusers can be used in order to create a soothing atmosphere in your bedroom that helps you relax. Aromatherapy candles can scent any room and have positive effect, too. Moreover, you can add 1 or 2 drops of your favourite oil to 1 litre of hot water in a bowl and put your nose over the bowl (approximately 50 cm away for safety reasons) and inhale the steam.

Sprinkled pillows and handkerchief is another way to aim your sleep. Lay over the scented pillows and get the scented whiff and as a result, you will relax, fall asleep more easily and have a deeper sleep. Another relaxing technique that reduces insomnia symptoms is Aromatherapy massage. Essential oils are never used undiluted but in combination with appropriate base oils. Gently rub of body and head can calm nervous system and provide a pleasant experience.

Finally, my favourite relaxing, sedative aromatherapy use is aromatherapy bath. Add 3 drops of lavender oil, 1 drop of chamomile oil and 1 drop of Ylang Ylang oil directly to bathwater and stir them to disperse. Stay in bathwater for 15 minutes in order the natural calming properties of the essential oils to have time to effect and unwind body and mind. After bath, go directly to bed and probably you will fall asleep without any delay and will enjoy a delightful relaxing deep sleep untill morning.
